Ladies,
As most of
you know, Betty Crosby and her husband, Gene, retired and hit the road in their
RV. So, I agreed to take up the position
as President for the remainder of 2009.
At the time this newsletter is going to print, she reassures me that
they have not killed each other. They
are currently touring the upper east coast.
As a matter of fact, Betty got her first Hole in One! It was at a 9 hole
course in Pomona, New Jersey. She went
to play by herself (since Gene was laid up) but had a lady join her at hole 2 or 3, so she had a witness. She promised to send a picture of the plaque
with her name and the infamous ball. The
course would not let her keep it but added it to their wall of fame. You go girl!
The last
couple of months have been really tough on our group of ladies. First, Tina Campise fell and broke her ankle
while hiking in Arizona. Then in July,
our beloved secretary, Margi Bice, had surgery.
Now, one of our newest members, Debbie Stearns, is out for about 6
months due to back surgery. We want to
take a moment and wish a speedy recovery for each one of these ladies. Lets keep these ladies and all those dealing
with family illnesses and situations in our thoughts and prayers.
Well...fall
is just around the corner and the days are slowly getting shorter and
cooler. Our Tuesday tee times for
September and October will be 5:00 pm with the Sunday, September 13, tee time
at 8:30 am.
Our 2009 Club
Championship is fast approaching, October 10 and 11, 2009 both tee times will
be 8:30 am. Margi has been publishing
the current club standings so if you plan on playing please make sure you are
qualified (four 18 holes equivalent). We
will be sending out more information in the next couple weeks in regards to how
and when to sign up. We will flight each
person based on your handicap.
I guess the
